PERCY JACKSON & THE LIGHTNING THIEF @ Vue Cinema Inverness, 1.30pm
It's the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson's Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they're not happy: Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy's mother. As Percy finds himself caught between angry and battling gods, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.
THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG @ Vue Cinema Inverness, 1.40pm
The classic fairytale gets an updated twist in Disney's animated musical comedy set in the French quarter of the city of New Orleans. Transformed into a frog by the evil voodoo man Dr Facilier, Prince Naveen from the land of Maldonia goes in search of a princess to break the spell. He finds a young African-American girl called Tiana and, mistaking her for a princess, asks her for a restorative kiss. Things, however, don't go to plan when the kiss only succeeds in changing Tiana into a frog too. Together, the two unfortunate amphibians go in search of Mama Odie, the good voodoo priestess of the Bayou. As they make their way through the mystical bayous of Louisiana, they encounter new friends in the form of Louis, a trumpet-playing alligator, and Ray, a hopelessly romantic firefly.

She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how they have changed all while attempting to get someone to find her lost body.

"Pobby and Dingan aren't dead."
By Ben Rice
Adapted for the stage by Rob Evans
Sometimes we have to believe in the impossible
What if you lived in the middle of nowhere?
What if your dad spent all day searching for something he might never find?
What if your mum dreamed of living on the other side of the world?
And what if your sister was a fruit-loop who spent all day playing with two invisible friends?
12 year-old Ashmol lives in the Australian outback with his mum, dad and his little sister Kellyanne… and her two invisible friends Pobby and Dingan.
One day, Pobby and Dingan disappear. At first Ashmol is happy that the imaginary friends are out of his life, but Kellyanne becomes sick. The longer Pobby and Dingan are lost, the sicker Kellyanne becomes. Finally Ashmol decides that there is only one thing to do: he must find Pobby and Dingan.
Pobby and Dingan is a heartbreaking, heart-warming, beautiful contemporary tale about the possibility of dreams, the preciousness of hope and how, sometimes, we have to believe in the impossible.

Holding on to your virginity, getting a ring for your pains and something to believe in, that’s what Dawn, Rob and Fawziya want. Ozzy, their loser PE teacher needs to believe in something too. It will all be fine when the Miracle Man gets here. Won’t it?
It’s a play written in Arial rather than Times New Roman if you know what we mean. The characters are bright, fizzy and fast and on a journey heading for a great big unabashed, get-it-right-up-ye finale.
‘I was thinking of going out into the playground, walking up to Fiona Grant, shoving my ring right into her wee pig-cow face and saying “Get this up ye ya hacket wee dog! The Miracle Man’s coming and now everyone hates you cos you’re a slag and we’re not. Spread that about ya minging bitch!”

In these times of crisis, is change possible? Acclaimed filmmaker Velcrow Ripper sets out to discover the power that is released when spirituality and activism meet.
“Here’s to Col’s numpty maw and paw for leaving him home alone and expecting everything to stay the way it was. Suckas!”
When you’re only sixteen, could the events of one night really shape the course of your life? Divert you from becoming the man you might have become, stunt you, burden you, trap you, destroy you, change the very core of you? Leave you empty.
Cathy Forde is a leading Scottish novelist (Fat Boy Swim, Skarrs) and this is her first play. It’s fast, furious, and like a piece of music, grows and swells to a mind-altering crescendo.

"The trio have a strong rapport while performing and it’s great to watch a band when you can tell they enjoy playing together... when the band wrapped up their final number of a two hour set everyone was left wanting more."
Vibrant, dynamic, exciting, original, sensitive and lyrical, Bellevue Rendezvous was formed in 2006 from a mutual love of beautiful, quirky and varied tunes from all over the world. They are an acoustic trio featuring an unusual combination of instruments - the line-up is Gavin Marwick (fiddle), Ruth Morris (nyckelharpa) and Cameron Robson (bouzouki). In their repertoire they have original tunes, as well as music from Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, Serbia, France, Brittany, Macedonia, Poland, Canada, Finland and Sweden. Bellevue Rendezvous might be a relatively new name on the folk scene but the individual members' sheer musicality and years of experience make for a band of real beauty. Together, the three instrumentalists combine to create a detailed, expansive sound.
